Thom, thank you for that, Light, yes, so perfect to add it in. I’ve read recently that scientists can now change matter into light and vice versa, so it’s interchangeable.
Yes, the sun has been doing it for a while now... and scientists tell us that 'matter' is, well, not solid...
I have come across the term 'intelligible light'. I quoted Jeremy Naydler when I wrote reviews of two of his books at the start of my substack a couple of years back. From Jeremy: ‘Goodness streams through our bedroom window in the morning sunlight,’ And he quotes Thomas Aquinas: ‘sense-perceptible light is certain image of intelligible light’.
Your experience sounds good and true and makes sense to me.
Philip, thank you I love these quotes, 'intelligible light' makes a lot of sense. I worked in IT and the fibre optic cables carry information in the form of light. I always found it strange that people could believe that but not believe that the light from the sun could carry information also.
Thank you Vincent, yes spirit is everywhere including in the things we think of as inanimate objects such as rocks. I live in the city, but I'm fortunate enough to have a balcony with a lovely cherry blossom tree, close enough that I can reach it's blossoms in the spring and leaves in the summer. I reach out to it often to say hello and connect with its spirit.
Even in the city, the stars in the sky sit with such a presence, I often feel this sense of a gathering.
What friends we have, all around us. All we have to do is pay attention and be open.
Kora, that’s a very special relationship with the cherry tree. I’m sure the tree, in a city, delighted with the connection. And yes you are so right, all we have to do is pay attention. It’s also great that where you are, you still can feel the presence of the stars. Wonderful. 🌍💚
The secret to spirit lies in understanding the photon. ‘Let there be light’ is not an idle phrase.
